i agree. in fact, i'd say most are legitimate, even if self interested. i'd love to imagine that..but its hard sometimes.

Some 'agendas' are legitimate. Have you ever fought City Hall over something that mattered to you? Try to get a large group of people on the same page, about anything, and you'll realize the limitations of our powers of reason as an evolutionary strategy. "Madness is rare in individuals, but in groups, peoples, parties, ages it is the rule."-Nietzsche
Imagine if the entire human race could scientifically mine each other's perspective in the form of disciplined rational dialog? Oh Youtube!

Excellent video! I have been fascinated by this topic. The grouping instinct manifested in mechanisms like religion and nationalism often overide the individual's power of reason and this makes perfect evolutionary sense. Will the human race ever 'have the intellect to know better'? Can our powers of reason ever match the scale of accomplishment of grouping mechanisms? Constantine used his powers of reason to select Christianity over Greek Philosophy as a tool to unite the Empire.*sigh* FoxNews

but not cognitively. which i stated clearly. you apparently pick and chose phrases rather than reading entire ideas.

"language alone is more complex than any interaction insects have."
That's completely false. The interactions among ants are far more complex than any human language. I suggest you google ant communication.
"systemically more complex"
You were talking about individual units, not the entire collective. If we go by your logic, humans are "systemically more complex" than ants, which is ultimately saying nothing.
Also, "more social" means "more complex social interactivity".
