I wonder what wouldve happened had Trinidad and Tobago qualified in 1990. That couldve been the turning point for our football back then but instead the US advanced with the 1-0 win and went on to several WC appearances there after. Interesting.

This was a tremendous upset back in the day. The USA and Trinidad & Tobago both had 9 points but T&T has a superior goal average so the USA needed to win in Port of Spain (remember, T&T managed to tie the USA 1-1 in Torrence, CA so they were expecting to beat the shit out of you guys in their house). Weird goal but the USA defended with everything they had after the T&T onslaugh that followed. Congrats from Costa Rica - TRICAMPEON DE CONCACAF 1963-1969-1989
