Power would be supplied via the connection as far as I understood the technique. Besides, you don't need nano machines to create microchips. And maybe these things would be produced the very same way (at least I guess that they would want to have it that way, since it's the cheapest approach). You can create 3D structures using lithography - so maybe this idea is not absurd. Slicing a waver into correct sizes and refitting it with missing parts - not needing nano machines either.

machines smaller than 1mm containing enough stuff to power and run electronic magnets AND the computerparts needed to integrate it with millions of it's kin? they're going to need nano-sized gear to fit all of into a 1mm shell. and if they're just "envisioning" it then why not envision the nanomachines instead and patent them? x.x would make lots more money in the future then.

No, they're not. How do you come to think that it would need nano-machines? Besides, they already estimate that it will probably need 20 years until it can be done as they envisioned. Nevertheless you can already get stuff patented on these things today (which is equal to money in the future).

there's no way they'll be able to use this as a proper technology unless they use nano-machines. and we don't have those yet...by a long shot. these guys are just wasting their time.

just get one of those bad ass 3-d printers

See my YouTube channel for more on self reconfiguring technology.

they want them to be spheres so they can easily move around each other. with spheres they can role into place and no edges to stop them from moving.

Incredible. If they manage to do this. Looking forward for more hardware demos. Would be cool if they had already a dozen of such spheres that could interact with each other. And why spheres and not something that has flat faces and can form solid geometry without gaps like dodecahedron?

And then will start to create a new world from scratch where humans will be his slaves. yes i saw too many times Jurassic Park & The Matrix (and the lawnmower man too)... Lol.

God created dinosaurs. God created Man. Man will (re)create dinosaurs, then Man, then God. Then, that digital god will erase everything.
