Are you thinking of Ron Wood? Early on it was Brian Jones and Richards. Mick Jagger used to hang out with Gram Parsons then and some other country rock players. He was just learning the honky tonk.

Stones? Brian Jones founded the band and in the early years wrote most of the music. He just died, and they kept developing. Key person in the R.S. Maybe like Syd Barrett to Floyd, but more true to their epic sound.

Keith Relf sounds like Eric Clapton singing or visa-versa.

Right on, but Samwell Smiths's driving bass was just as an important feature of the Yardbirds music, especially live. His crescendo bass runs(listen to Smokestack Lightning on their first album) really gave them a unique sound.

Brian jones was crap. ( god rest) all he ever played was very basic guitar, thats why the stones got rid of him. He was a very pretentious person.

Hey bigfrank, just wondering why exactly he should have shot them for this...just wondering what your reasoning is.
They were just english kids who loved the music and tried to play it. Of course it will sound different but still, sounds sweet. Anyways, Im looking for a reply. |
