We probably won't mind, because we understand that America has the potential to be more than a mob of individuals, that members of a community have a categorical imperative to help each other, and that bringing about real change is worth a few minor inconveniences. So if I have to pay another few percent of my earnings in taxes, so be it.

Not possible. They will tell you they don't have to tolerate the intolerable, forgetting, or wilfully ignoring, that they are not the arbiters what is and what is not tolerable expression for the whole nation.

The VP is hardly without influence. Either one of those two in the white house will be bad for separation.
I guess we just disagree on how bad each of their positions are.
It's times like these I'm glad I'm not American. It's unbelievable how much the candidates are forced to pander to religion. Really really sad. Definitely a nasty choice in this case. |
