Thanks for the message (went to my account at work) -visit the discussion pages at dvinfo. probably the best place to get info as whilst i own an XH A1 I've never operated the XL H1. As far as im aware both cameras shoot HD. Whats potentially more interesting is whether the XL H1 shoots true progressive or uses the same 24f format as the XH A1.

hey, bro the footage makes the sony look better and i noticed the sound was reduced with the canon, i'm a canon fan so i do think maybe the canon could have been put in better settings, to look better, but it is youtube we can't see what you see

I have a PC XP, so FCP is useless for me. I don't have a mac and will never use that.

biggest difference is that you can use prime lenses with the XL H1 without having to get a seperate adaptor. Its also a full shoulder mount, which is gonna make it easier to use on the fly but also a bit bulkier. But... whilst its got some extra bits and bobs on top of that its also older tech and they learned a lot from it when designing the XH A1.The new update of the XH A1, the XL H1A inculdes a lot of the features of the XL H1, and its a lot cheaper.

dont get the xl2. get the xh a1. xl2 are becoming obsolete, and now with all the video sharing networks like youtube, and vimeo, u can broadcast ur vids in hd (not youtube though). u can do everything with and xh a1 as u can with an xl2 plus hd. but i love the ergonomics on the xl2, but if u want a little bit of both, get the xl h1

well yeah but it takes a while to get used to! I've had mine for four or five months now and im still finding out new stuff it can do!
