The skyline engine (RB26DET) is illegal in the US due to emissions. It is a legal engine if you have the correct emissions parts on it. The car itself needs a few things to be legal, US spec shatter proof glass for instance.
5 million car people saw F&F and hated the idiots who suggested "Hey, let's have the floor fall out even though it has nothing to do with nitrous while everyone shifts like they have 10 gear transmissions". Good concept, poorly executed for the sake of "hollywooding it".

yes skylines with the stock skyline engines are illegal in the states that's y if u were to import 1 u would jus get the frame etc.. no egine though i dunno y but the us has alot of restrictins on street legal shit...
