since most of these videos are just "for fun" I really don't pay much attention to holding the camera still..
If you check out the short music film I did "it's the little things" You see that I combine still images with handheld and some homemade dolly shots.
I do have other tests where I have put more energy in the shooting process.

I think if you do hendheld you should hold it as still as possible and it will come out looking with the right amount of shake.

Thanks, and yeah I use the DVX lcd.
Now, the shakiness from handheld is something that I really like and prefer over static tripod shots.. What I need is a shoulder mount..
And this is and old video, I think the focusing might be better on my newer ones..
hopefully:P

It's a bit annoying to watch as the footage is shaky also you might need some practice with manual focusing as most of the shots are out of focus. That is understandable as you might have just got you DOF adapter or you are using the DVX's stock lcd. Look into Brevis 35 or Letus 35 if you decide to get another adapter as they are truly great.

Well first of all, I shot in 25p and when I captured it the settings where 25fps in adobe premiere as well.. does this answer your question?
Nothing changes I think:P

When you uploaded this video from the camera to the computer, how did you keep it 24p? Doesn't it normally change?

Ah:) congratulations:)
Yeah I might get the flip module soon I think.. we'll see.
Nice lenses there, just have to use'em correctly.. I have a 35mm canon FD f2.0 lens, very happy with it.
But you probably don't "need" magic bullet.. but it makes it hell of a lot easier for you;)

My SGPro is being built riiiiight now. Im getting the one with the image flipper which will be useful. Im using Canon FD lenses with a Sony FX1. The de-saturation and colour fiddles can be done within Final Cut Pro anyway, so no need for magic bullet? |
