not that i don't agree with people that say vai, satriani, petrucci or gilbert are some of the greatest players ever, but they always seem to forget steve morse. well there are much more good guitarists then the ones i just named, but i mean look at his perfect technique (especially alternate picking arpeggios). its just godlike:P.

GENIALER TYP..geniale fingertechnik..nich nur
Deep Purple wurden seinerzeit bereichert!
WILL BLACKMORE NICH ABWERTEN,aber der kerl hört sich einfach besser an!!

I still prefer Ritchie Blackmore. Morse just doesn't fit it Deep Purple, in my opinion.

keep in mind malmsteen is playing his acoustic straight up to a mic and not directly through with added delay/reverb/chorus, etc..
which might explain the raw sound.
slayer666metallica (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
in my opinion each guitarist is best at what they're known for..
imo, evh?
i mean, come on.. tapping. its his thing, his trademark so to say..
gilbert, fucking badass when it comes to alternate string skipping arpeggios.
friedman,... good at.. uhh, you know, that eastern sounding shit or whatever that he does. lol.
ya get my drift??
everybody has weaknesses but also strengths in their playing, its a just a natural human trait i think.. lol

Man, Steve Morse in an incredibly talented player!
Crazyguitarman1991 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
i havent heard steve do sweeping or neo classical impro like yngwie, or great big tapping patterns like evh, og blast a million alternate picked notes like buckethead
but i prefer him as well, he is extremely versatile, and i feel the melody better with him.

Want a change? I switched the audio with a live 1983 recording:
"Steve Morse - live classical 1983 (added video)".
HAVE A LISTEN!
