If we gotta eliminate a part of the bill of rights...lets get rid of the liberally abused first amendment. I am tired of the communistic anti-American bullshit from 95 percent of the media.

The constitution makes an enemy out of anyone who becomes an enemy to the consitution
We have the right to bear arms, attacking that is attacking the consitution and defining oneself (not as a foreign) but as a domestic enemy of itself.

"What you're challenging the computer to do is take an unknown bullet and go into the database and compare it with millions of other records.. There's just no supercompter in the world with that power."
Yeah. Definitely no way at all for any compter to find a record in a database that big. I think I'll go search on youtube for "supercomputer" and see if there's anything to collaborate this.

This sounds like a great theory in practice but it seems that a smart criminal could use this to prime the system. Lets say that a known gun in the system was thought to be the weapon used in shooting xyz person. That criminal could alter the firing pin in the shooting so that it no longer matches the database's records. Then the prosecution would have to throw out the most important evidence which is the weapon used in the crime.

To prevent crime, we need to put more police on the streets in high crime areas, arm responsible citizens, and close the revolving doors of the criminal justice system.

I don't claim to know much about anything, but you can put whatever the hell you want on the end of the firing pin, and yes it may imprint on the primer of the cartridge of the first couple hundred of rounds, maybe more, but one thing I learned in the Marines is that the tip of a firing pin does wear out, and something as miniscule as a serial number will be worn off quickly... I've worn out more than a few myself.

The socialists are now going to try to make manufacturers have the gun serial number formed onto the firing pin to tattoo the casing(primer) when fired to drive up costs of personal protection. This will also make legal guns outlawed in some states like California. watch for it.

The opening statements of that lady are irrational. It is obvious that she is reading from a script. Even if there was or wasn't any "ballistic ID" system, wouldn't her son have been dead anyway?

Even if it worked, the criminal goes to a range, and picks up some brass off the ground, and uses a revolver (which doesn't eject rounds) he could point the finger at 20 random innocents (even judges, security guards, police or soldiers who do a lot of shooting as part of their training!). |
