At $599, it is ridiculously expensive. (Add in the cost of an AT&T contract and you get close to $1500)
Google Maps, yay, but no GPS functionality? Come on - if you're going to 'reinvent' the phone, GPS should be in there. Several high-end phones have it, so why not the iPhone?
