classical gas has been played on violins, pianos, steel strings and classical guitars, theres no set rules classical gas is a piece of music and tommy emanual plays on a steel string, music is more diverese and broader than what u think.

I think what Deejay was talking about was using your thumb on the LEFT hand whilst forming chord shapes, not the right hand (assuming you are a right handed player.) In which case no, it is not true at all that you ALWAYS use this thumb when fingerpicking. However... deejay... are you saying that you shouldn't take advice from someone by the way he plays the instrument? That's just stupid. Ever heard of innovation? Where would we be if everybody played guitar the exact same way as everybody else

you shouldn't even watch 30 seconds of this video because this man is playing absolutely horrible, you never use your thumb like that ever, if you took a real classical class your teacher would give you so much grief, horrible

Since when did music have rules? Stop making rules and just play, stop criticizing and just listen, stop being an ass and just get over yourself. Oh, and it is kinda hard to hear a classical guitar unless you plug it up. He is probably playing on steel strings so you can hear it, asshole.
