We can't deny that average lifestyle have improved for those living in the cities but we have to be little critical. The development mostly benefited the Han Chinese settlers and atmosphere there between Han Chinese and Tibetans have been tense. That should tell anyone something about their treatment of the Tibetans, who are marginalized and minority in their own land.

I have never been against demos. It's the violence, mainly by non Tibetans, that throws a very bad light on Western society. What was the point of trying to put out that torch. Smacked of hooliganism and sensationalism to me and detracted from the real issue - human rights issues against the population of all the provences.
