That's good. I do not know your heart, but I was unsure with your comment so I'd rather blow the trumpet and be wrong, as opposed to not saying anything. God's Word alone is sufficient for strengthening our faith. Just as you said, 'faith comes through hearing the Word.' I am just making sure we go FIRST to Christ, and not to Paul Washer, or any other preacher for that matter. I submit that we should all continually examine ourselves and make sure Christ and His Word is first in our life.

But I am not idolizing Paul Washer, nor do I compare him in ANY way with God's Word. The fact of the matter is, he (Mr Washer) created that Passion in me about Christ. That is why ''Faith comes through hearing the Word''

Be careful not to make Paul Washer your faith strengthener. He is merely a sinner, redeemed by God's sovereign grace. Yes,the LORD is using him greatly. Every time you feel 'weak' on your faith and you need serious strength, go to Jesus Christ in prayer, and to His Word. Washer's words are great, but they are NOTHING in comparison to the Word of the Almighty God. We ALL need to be cautious not to idolize preachers. They are a great aid to growth in Christ; however, they are not a replacement.

Yes...but he's also a Calvinist or believes in the Doctrines of Grace. Baptist is a Denominational affiliation. Calvinist is a purely Theological affiliation.

Angel1charlie, Are you saying that you think true Christians do not commit sins?

Every time I feel I am weak on my faith and need a serious strenght I watch Paul Washer's sermons. It always works! The sincerity and humbleness of this man are an ispiration to me.
