Dude, Bashimet is like my new hero! But, God i get so frustrated with the fancy camera work. It's awesome how the orchestra follows the Bashimet and Vengerov without a conductor, but the camera didn't once focus on the concert master. I was hoping to see more communication between Bashimet, Vengerov and the concertmaster but the camera kept focusing elsewhere.

I found that Bashment almost never perform from memory?? anyone notice it? I was there at his premier recital in USA some 20 years ago at New England Conservatory (boston), he played the whole recital with music. He did that for almost all his performance including those with major orchestra.
As great as him, does he has problems remembering scores??

Bashmet forever! Vengerov is kindof a cocky looking bloke and prickish, and Bashmet is totally puting up with him, esp. around 3 minutes. V shakes his big head so much, but it might just be his instrument is so small. ;) |
