So have to agree gd411! This film has Gene Raymond and Delores Del Rio in the top billing but Fred and Ginger effortlessly out perform both, even with fewer scenes. Fred's choregraphy is strongly in evidence for the first time on film, Ginger's comedic talent abounds as does their colletive dance skill and unique chemistry.

Astaire also had to dance backwards, and with his solo's he did some incredibly intricate and complicated stuff, and made it look effortless. Did he also make up the choreography? But Ginger was amazing, and just so beautiful.

I saw this scene on TCM last night. This was their first movie together! I was thinking,"Hey, that's the song they sing in Kentucky Fried Movie!
Ginger: What's with the forehead touching thing?

You also have to consider, as amazing dancer as Fred was, Ginger matched him step by step but she had to do everything backwards! Ugh! People will be marvelling at watching those two for a long long time.
