Main reasons I love Linux: -Program crashes, system doesn't -No viruses, adware, spyware, trojans, etc.. -Doesn't require a badass computer to run -Sweet mascot (Tux FTW) -Linux users are more united that Windows so you are more apt to be helped on forums for Linux -It can be on the same computer as Windows at the same time. This way, you can be virus-free for downloading things, surfing the web, email and chatting, yet still be able to play the latest games.

Yeah! I prefer Windows Vista...Linux is for people who wanna just play with their computers... It's my opinion...

Ubuntu. Its obviously the easyist Linux distrobution to use however the major flaw with Linux is the EXTREME lack of compadabillity with software sure you can edit with Gimp but its no Photoshop and serious photo editors need tools as powerful as Photoshop not some stupid open-scource software mantained by a bunch of nerds that barly works, sure you have more security in Ubuntu. But the only thing that Linux is good for is servers and looking on google every time you want to change a setting

Agreed with the Linux users, even though I just started using it a week or 2 ago I'm much happier now. Nearly everything is free and open source... and I know if you install ubuntu linux it's VERY simple to duel boot windows (i prefer windows xp) from if you still want to have that option.

I never said I like Windows, because I don't, I think it is horrible. That still doesn't mean everyone looks at it that way. If I say Vista sucks, then there's people who say it doesn't. Auto indexing can be good, ever used Kerry Beagle? It doesn't index all the time, but damn it's fast.

with all respect its just a very poor imitation to compiz fusion. guys..about chosing the system u like is just like chosing the clothes or car or music that suits u.. just personal prefernece!! just im sure that all of us here have tried windows and people who have changed to linux had their own reasons like me. i myself cant convert my wife yet..lol just a q:what kinda configuration do u need on ur machine to get those effects running without hanging&dying on u every 5 seconds in WIN?

"Respect people who use different OS's." You can respect people who use different OS's but that doesn't mean they don't suck. Thats two different points. Peoples opinions can be respected but doesn't mean they are right. Vista IS awful. Its an applauding OS. Especially if your computer is a couple of years old. And whats with the auto indexing feature?? What a waste of time. Nearly burnt my HDD out, and for what? So it could search slightly quicker. Which most people do once a week?
