I was lucky enough to see JJ Grey and Mofro in September in St. Augustine at the Blackwater Sol Review and that was the best show I've been to. I also love the song "Lochlossa", because I've be to the town of Lochlossa and I know the meaning of the song. I'm home sick and I'm proud to say that I'm a Florida Cracker. I'm also proud to say that Lochlossa reminds me of the one stop light town that I'm from in Lake County, Florida. The town I'm from is good ole' Umatilla.

as time goes on the crowd gets better at singing this with him. last night we did it as an impromptu encore with hardly any instruments. the fever is spreading.

I love Mofro and was just checking around and saw this. I've been to 3 of their shows and it looks to me like JJ was a little more pickled during this show, but I don't give a damn, I LOVED IT!!!

As a transplant from Alabama and a long time Floridian, I'm still a homespun boy. This soulful and lyrical mastery gives me a returned since of home, a place where I know I belong and will, in my heart, never leave. I'm a Cracka, and my momma threw up her share of grits a ho cakes. This white boy JJ has captured something that's soulful and genuine I find myself replaying Mofro melodies in my head in the midst of Miami chaos. THERAPY, is what it is..
