SEAN MOYLAN, your related to him, sorry mate, sorry that was uncalled for, i had no idea, id be fucking proud as hell if i were you ahahhaha sorry just so used to only fighting on youtube (all the unionists and loyalist scum of the earth) sorry
IAmWanderingAengus (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
as for the mispronunciation of Irish words, i assure you that i've already gotten plenty of slagging about it from my cousins.
IAmWanderingAengus (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
honestly, i don't mean to sound high and mighty or hostile. And by the way, my family bled as well, as did many peoples. Hell, ever heard of a man named Sean Moylan? He was my great grand father and i'm just as proud of him as i am of any academic efforts. And i dont mean to make leinster seem "pathetic" at all, honestly. If you feel i've made errors, i'd honestly much rather have your help amending them than your hostility. cheers
WexfordBoyo18 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
mate, you pronounced every gaelic word in the videos wrong, who knows his history, and unlike my ancestors writing about great deeds, they actually bled on the battlefield, since the battle of clontarf my family has defended ireland, up until 1921, sorry to appear hostile, just i dont enjoy you ranting about leinsters "patheticness" and how much they were conquered, we actually spearheaded 1 out of every 3 rebellions, and dont act so high and mighty because your grandfathers deeds in literature.

And just for the record, i was the first in my family to be born in the US from a family of Irish born academics, (if you're familiar with texts such as "The Unionjacking of Ireland" and "British Brutality in Ireland", they were written by my grandfather Jack OBrien) so if anything, my approach to history was shaped by people who were products of your own education system.
All that being said, again, if there are specific inaccuracies in my presentation, please let me know. thank you

And if youd like to suggest that simply being American is indicative of poor research methods (despite the tremendous contribution that American universities and academics have made to historical studies) I suggest you rethink your own approach.

sorry to disappoint. Actually, i drew my sources from both Irish and English historians. If i've pronounced something wrong or you feel that i've been misinformed, please just let me know so i can correct it in the future. As it stands, i get berated by british and unionist viewers for leaning toward an irish interpretation and by you for leaning toward a british interpretation. As for Fiach O'Byrne, he was mentioned in the original draft but there simply wasnt room. |
