Music: American born Doug Steele (aka John Sanders) currently resides in Melbourne, Australia. He has done clinics for Line 6 and Ibanez guitars, played regularly as a featured guitarist at the Frankston Guitar Festival, and currently plays in Melbourne cover band Dr. Nick. He owns and runs Guitar Fight Club with fellow Flatstick guitarist and good friend Ben Quirk. Doug's original Band Flatstick has been praised by Chris Adler from Lamb of God and Eddie Head from Haji's Kitchen. Both tried to get Flatstick signed to labels, but labels weren't looking to sign zany crossover metal at the time. Entertainment: Doug worked 5 years at Austereo stations Triple M and 2Day/Foxfm. Doug's roles were radio personality, character voices, rants, song parodies, and voice overs for commercials. A demo of Doug's voicework can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... MC: Through Austereo, Doug has MC'd many events, from Red carpet events to instores to club work. The most memorable MC gig was Charlie's Angels Full Throttle Red Carpet Premiere. With zero prep, Doug entertained the 2 thousand strong crowd for close to an hour before the Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore arrived. Clips of the event were showed on America's entertainment tonight. TV: Doug has appeared in a Rock Eisteddfod Challenge television commercial which appeared on channel 10. He has also appeared on Australia's Channel V's room 208 as a dance contestant. His dancing skills was abysmal. Doug's showreel is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

Thanks for the lessons. Did you use a metronome alot to get where you are at today?
DougFCKNSteele (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
You'll get there.

Hahaha, awesome. Thanks for the tips and keep making more shred videos. By the way, your right hand is insane. If I tried to mimic PG's hand I think it'd seize up and fall off.

I'm lazy ha ha, it wouldn't be doing that much in regards to making up challenging licks..Just get the 1st PG vid (intense rock) and try and master that. Do everything to a metronome and while your friends are out getting laid and getting drunk, you're at home practicing.
haruko958 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
What kind of things did you practice? Like going up and down scales and that, or just like learning and making up challenging licks?
DougFCKNSteele (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Thanks, I wouldn't go that far, but COOL.. I got good by practicing every fucking day between 3 and 6 hours. Self taught as well.

I don't listen to nevermore, but if it's what i think it is, it'd be Marty Friedman influenced..
