G Improvisation - The Evocative Native American-style Flute
This is one of many short videos I made of myself today (8/17) improvising on a variety of Native American-style flutes. I found this great tunnel under a seldom-used road, and the natural ambience of that space combined with the sounds of summer insects, esp. cicadas, is sublime.
This flute is a High Spirits 'Redtail Hawk' in G. It's made of Eastern aromatic cedar. Thanks for watching & listening. Enjoy the sounds! (Incidentally, the camera is a Canon PowerShot A650 IS.)

Why thank you for your very kind comments about my playing! Yes, I LOVE this tunnel. There's actually another one in my neighborhood which is bigger and better-sounding than this one, so I recorded a few of these short improvisations there as well. The drawback is that occasional local traffic runs through the big tunnel, whereas this one sees no traffic as it's in a field under a small highway... but it's a 30-minute + hike to get there from my apartment. Oh well, I need the exercise. Cheers!

Wow, that tunnel is a lucky find...the acoustics sound just about perfect. Lovely playing, too. :) |
