btrth4ny0u: I read your post. All I could understand from it was you're admitting you're a douche and still have your V-Card.

That is a very beautiful musical sound he makes. I bet Allan is a very nice person. It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood. I love you Allan. Won't you be my neighbor?

I remember when I saw him live a few years ago, he played a song using this effect. When I heard that song I knew I'd heard one of the most beautiful thing in music to me. I wish I could remember the song, but unfortunately that went lost.
Thanks Allan for making some of the best music on the planet!

I don't think it's necessary to be a guitarist to be influenced by Holdsworth. I don't even think it's necessary to LIKE Holdsworth's music to be influenced by it. He's doing something extremely innovative, interesting, and out there, which you can probably learn from even if you downright hate it.

"But seriously, even though his effect is pretty out, for the most part, the harmony is relatively consonant, it's like he deconstructed a Bach choral or something. Beautiful!"
actually. the harmony is pretty whacky too. that's why it's interesting.
