This is Kristian Cvetkovic playing Schubert´s Fantasy op.15 D.760 in C major part 1 - Allegro con fuoco ma non troppo (home amateur recording). Kristian was born on 2. November 1991 in Zug, Switzerland and plays the piano since he was 5 ( http://www.cvetkovic.com ). The main challenge this time was to select the "correct" tempo and concept for this ROMANTIC composition. Very often Schubert's 'Wanderer Fantasy' is unfortunately only played as a stormy virtuoso showpiece. Indeed this work requires certain technical skills, Schubert himself remarked "the devil take it, I can't play it." But this music is also full of passion. Many pianists (several recordings may be found on YouTube as well) take the technical, straightforward approach and play this piece flat, i.e. almost like an etude. The ATTEMPT here is to follow the composer's advice that the first part is to "be performed very imaginatively and passionately". This approach still needs to be improved, especially the musical expression could be better and more explicit in the right hand around 03:50-04:30. Relax, dream and enjoy. Curious to read your comments! One may wish to listen to the recording from Andras Schiff ( http://www.amazon.ca/Wanderer-... ) - this is the interpretation style Kristian wants to achieve.

Man you are awesome! Schubert is my favorite composer, but I'm still years away from playing this piece. For now I'm playing his Impromptus D899, not technically as difficult but just as beautiful :)

Fine job. Continue to explore the wonderful legato lines and melodies that Schubert has in this masterpiece and try to use them as small "oasises" between the "sturm and drand" sections.
