I believe they used it in this movie to show that it is always darkest before dawn and that kind of thing. Halo's story has always been so epic, it was thrilling to see them take the story to a new level with this line of adds and on line walk through of that model like a documentary.

well they used this song for a reason. The song, in its entirety, gives a sense of a calm, serene scene that changes to a dark, foreboding force on the horizon, which soon completely overwhelms the calm music. This scene cuts in around about the time that dark "storm" comes to full force in the song. At the end of the song it returns to the serene melody from the beginning, giving the sense of weathering out a rain storm and seeing the rainbow afterward.
