I used to think vietnam vets and serving men were let down by the media and citizens but I think the blame firmly lies with the govt. The media showed the actually goings on which digusted the public. Killing, death and destruction cannot be glamourised to normal civilians. The US govt started this war with false pretentions and used wmds just like Iraq.the average US serviceman in both conflicts is the betrayed dealing with the govt bullshit and with no respect.
