If she did that triple-triple early she would have. It shows how strong she is that with a big mistake, 6 triples and no triple-triple vs Michelle's 7 triples, a triple-triple, and a clean skate, that she still took a couple judges off Michelle. Such a talented skater.

This was a really good skate but it is nice to see even the Irina fans admit Michelle was the rightful gold winner here! Irina certainly earned the silver though. Dont pay attention to Zuranthium. She is a huge troll who goes on all skating videos and spews her crap she tries to pass off as skating knowledge. Now I see it is about Gusermoli the clunky mediocre french skater deserving silver or Slutskaya and Butyrskaya, ROTFL! What a clueless moron.

Yeah she didnt really have that situation ever before. She was a contender in previous years but never the gold medal favorite like she was in 2000. I think she would have been better prepared had she been in that situation before. Oh well, she still had an amazing career with 2 well deserved world titles, 3 well earned world silvers including this one, a 6th world medal with a bronze in 96, 7 European titles, and countless other accolades. She is a legend of figure skating!

Haha Vanessa being competitive with Irina. That is a joke. The only time Vanessa ever beat Irina was the 1997 worlds when Irina blew away Vanessa in the free skate and lost only due to a fluke mistake in the short and the scoring system them not rewarding that her free skate was light years better.

It was probably alot of pressure for her to be going into a big event as the gold medal favorite for the first time. That could be why it wasnt her best skate. Still wish she could have done it though. :(

Yeah I agree she would have won here with her grand prix final performance. Her Europeans performance would have made it even closer then it was here. Kwan skated brilliant so Irina had to be her best, and while she was very good it wasnt her best unfortunately. That triple salchow-triple loop popping into a big opened up double salchow is the mistake that cost her the gold here I think. It is a nice to see she won a couple judges even without her best skate though.

It wasnt as good as her performance from the Europeans and Grand prix final which was unfortunate. Her performance from the grand prix final would have easily won here. Her performance from Europeans even might have since it was better then her and she came pretty close to winning as it was. So in that sense it was dissapointing for her, but still a very good skate.

This was a really good skate. She did not deserve the gold since Kwan had a better skate, but still 6 excellent triples, superb spins, much improved artistry. Just terrific. Very well deserved silver medal. Whoever said Gusmeroli should beat this is smoking crack.
