You just need the right codec.

jimmy, i am having a problem downloading the virtualdub. help please! i did one and it says cannot locate decompressor for format FMP4. VD needs compatible codec to decompress video. i used the link to download from your other video vitualdub. i had no problem with the aegisub, just that. thanks if you could help.

Thanks JimmyR!~
I downloaded Aegisub but didn't know how to use it. Your tutorial is very clear and staright to the point. I learned in an instant! ^_^ I finally added a sub to my favorite japanese concert performance. ;)
Thanks also to MdRipperM for the compression tip! ;)

Really nice tutorial for the first use! Kinda outdated, but still works. Thanks man :)
Aegisub is so cool and so... free! :)

It's big because you don't compress it. Once you click "Save As..." look down and you will see "Change" next to compression. Choose the best compression you think is OK and the video will be ok than. But some compression makes the video totaly bad, so try some compression. I use normaly Compression DivX Codec (2 Logical CPUs) ;)

That's because you didn't choose a compression. Uncompressed videos have extremely high file sizes.

wha..? did you compress the file via virtualdub?
After adding subs to one of my 17Mb clips it was still 17 Mb...
But 61 GB, holy shit something´s wrong with that XD |
