Wish I could give my 626 some of this loving, but I'd be scared of busting a speaker if doing a liveset with it :(

Love the TR-505, I have it sitting around in a closet somewhere. I'll have to dust it off and put it to use again. I modified mine to be analog clocked by a Suzuki Omnichord back around 1990 (give or take a year). I had no idea back then I was a circuit bender! I got some strange sounds from bending that Omnichord. The TR-505 can be bent too, some crazy sounds hidden in there as well! Had them in synce without midi!

Amazing what can be done to a simple 505

I love all of this electronic mangling but sometimes I find these frequencies can start to grill my eardrums...
Its like a physiological reaction to noise and saw waves...
But I still love it...

Glad to see I'm not the only one who's scared of screwing one of these classic machines

so what exactly does this thing do, filter the signal way you like and then amplify it with a bit of tube distortion?
zoniggboum (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I'm really keen on that...
Looking forward to any demo video showing this! |
