More live Motown medley with Smokey Robinson and The Miracles (Shop Around), The Supremes (Where Did Our Love Go). Followed by the finale 'Mickey's Monkey' with Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, and everyone else joining in: The Supremes, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Stevie Wonder, Dusty Springfield. With the Earl Van Dyke Sextet. From the Ready Steady Go (RSG), Sound Of Motown TV special, recorded at the Rediffusion TV studios in London on 18 March 1965. **Historical notes**: This special was mainly Dusty Springfield's idea, to promote the Motown music and artists in Britain. Dusty was an occasional presenter of the weekly Ready Steady Go (which had the tag line... The Weekend Starts Here). She was a big fan of Motown music, and suggested the idea for this special to Vicki Wickham, recording artists manager, and RSG's producer at Rediffusion. Let's hope that this show (and other surviving RSG footage) one day gets a DVD release. It's now been 20 years since anything's been heard of these shows. The "Rediffusion London" TV station ceased to exist after July 1968, when the franchise for commercial TV in the London region changed. Sadly, only a handful of their music shows have survived. Most of the RSG shows are now lost to history.

Stop and think about the Hall of Fame talent on this show...in one room! Wow. Some of the giants of rock and roll. What was this...some TV show I never saw as a teenager?

Wow that's some serious moves, I came looking for a Christmas song by Motown. Its not like any other I've heard. Please if anyone knows of it, let me know. It was about boys growing up to be men...and no bombs...and peace on earth.

And another thing, why is it when they sing The Miracles' "Mickeys Monkey" all you hear is Diana's screeching voice in the backgrounds? Always got to have her microphone turned up high...geez! lol

I know that Mary Wells was released from her contract by this time but where are Marvin Gaye, The Marvelettes and the Four tops on this special?

You know watching that clip made me realize why their was so much magic between HDH and Ross' voice. You could go with various voices, but Diana's voice captured the fragile person asking Where Did Our Love Go. Sometimes folks with big voices just lack the ability to show any softness or fail encompass the fragile side of a song. Diana did this perfectly.
