I was in Amsterdam and we smoked a joint on a nice park bench near a canal there. Suddenly police showed up and checked cars right behind us - BUT they didnt even care about us smoking weed 10 feet next to them!

if you get caught with less than 7 grams its like a 55$ fine with no criminal charges, $100 for under an ounce, $200 for a little over an ounce and then more than that and you go to jail.

You really have to be 18, they check your ID everytime even when you're visiting daily ... these days they have special machines for checking your ID so they can see how much you've bought there that day :( grtz..
