Yes, the Grancino used here is in authentic Baroque conditions, with Baroque measures for bridge and all its parts, without chin support, with a slightly curved Baroque bow and, most of all, with gut strings.

i like the grancino's sound better than Milstein's strad. It's got less carrying power, but more rich and buttery lower overtones, giving it a mysterious and very pleasant sound.
