That is a shadow of one of the astronaut's hands, silhouetted through a window that is backlit by the sun. The hand comes into view, flips a switch and then goes back down.

Can you please explain what occurs in the bottom left sunlit portion @ 03.37 very strange???
oishiiloops (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
you are correct - i myself do not believe them to be craft at all - the word i meant to use was objects.
objects that appear next to sts missions are very similar to smoke rings - big ones.. and they dissipate after a while. this happened where no stars were visible because light was concentrated on the space station.
people give too much thinking power to the "qualified people" who are really specialists and usually not generalists.. so they look for specific items
too many anomolies
koriko88 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
That would make sense if there were "unidentified craft", but there aren't. Qualified people can identify those satellites and space derbis correctly. Should we attach a giant billboard to every satellite from now on to "identify" them?
It's like looking in the sky and claiming that meteorologists can't explain the piles of cotton floating around in the atmosphere. It's explained and documented. People would understand this if it weren't for the atrocious state of science ed in the US.

no one said anything about aliens - just unidentified craft.
both coast to coast crowd and the skeptic crowd both fail to utilize deductive reasoning and critical thinking.
they both take in information provided to them by whatever outlet as the end all absolute truth; items are to be researched and cross referenced.
those who believe that we are alone in the universe really have no clue as to vastness of our universe.
there are many anomolies that are unexplained by science.
koriko88 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
That's a convenient argument for nonsense. The alien myth is an answer to a question that doesn't exist and is mainly based on ignorance and lack of understanding about basic scientific principles.
The Coast-to-Coast crowd are already sweaters.

its crazy how people are so easily programmed to maintain social order and structure :]
youll make a nice sweater some day my wooly brother.

It's incredible how much misconception there is about space and basic physics. This reflects the poor quality of science education in most of the world, including (but certainly not limited to) the US.
Unfortunately pseudoscience and Coast-to-Coast AM take the place of real, proven science when it's not properly taught. People get some really bizarre ideas.

Ice and pieces of metal fall off the shuttle all the time
koriko88 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
It's not a window in the structure in the middle of the frame. There's actually a shadow covering that structure, and the white gap on the left hand side is a window which is backlit by the Sun. |
