SRT92, 291 horsepower out of that engine is a lot but it has to be revved so much to truly feel any bit of it, it makes it seem underpowered and slow. Until 3,000 RPM, it's really dead. They don't have much torque for being an I6. However, it would be better than the 4.3 V6 in every aspect. GM should have designed the V6 versions of the GMT900 platform to use the 4200 and just killed off the 4.3.

wow that is one clean engine. the I6 is a pretty powerful engine has good pick-up. tows a lot too! i love it and wouldn't trade it in for anything!

GM and a few European companies are about all that are left. I don't personally classify European cars as good. :)

For having 291 hp, they aren't all that fast. But they are one of the best engines GM ever built on a durability comparison. They're head-and-shoulders over the 4.3L V6 though. I wish I6 engines were still popular. :(
