Lego NXT Hydraulic Car (Pneumatic Suspension)

Hello everyone. I would like you all to see my first NXT creation. It's a car, but it can do a little more than go forward, backward, left, and right. This car has 2 wheel drive, 2 wheel steering, 3 speed automatic transmission, with 2 extra gear options controlling the pneumatic switch, and the pneumatic pump. The three motors are used to control the gear changing, power steering, and the last one provides power to the transmition, the pneumatic switch, and the pneumatic pump. There's a total of 5 geers, 3 connected to the transmition. The first gear works fine but the car moves pretty slow. When the car is swithced into second or third gear, the motor just jams up becasue lego motors don't have the best power, and because there are too many gears between the motor and the wheels. The pneumatic system can do 2 things. The first being the raising and lowering of the car. Each wheel is connected to a pneumatic cylinder. When they fill up with air pressure the car can raise 7/8 an inch off the ground. But when it's this high there's more resistance in the universal joints, making it harder for the car to move. The seond thing the cylinders are used for is the suspension system, wich suprisingly works pretty well. When the pneumatic switch is changed (second gear) the air pressure fills a fifth pneumatic cylinder which turns the back wheels inward. The two back wheels are now pointed 45 degrees back. There is no point to it anymore, but what it was meant for may sound crazy. The reason I made the the wheels turn backward, was so they could propel the car in the water. I was going to attach lego propellers to the rear wheels so they spun pushing the car in the water. The first problem was getting the car to float. I couldn't think of any lego pieces to get it to float besides buying 10 lego air cylinders, which are about $20 each. That was out of the question. Also in order for the car to move in the water the propellers would have to spin really fast (Why I made a third gear). The motor wasn't even powerful enough to turn the propellers out of the water so I gave up on the boat car idea. I have recently built a mounted airsoft gun that can pan up, down, left, and right. The device to controll the gun is completed and it works better than I ever expected. All I'm waiting for is an X10 video receiver, so that I can wirelessly videostream the view of the gun to my computer. I'm also trying to program it to be controlled by my joystick. It's a work in progress soon to be finished. When I'm done, I will make a video of it and post it asap. If you want to be informed on when it's done and when the video is posted, all you have to do is SUBSCRIBE!
