Maybe Roger could go higher, but only using the "falsetto", while freddie used his full voice, so technically it was Freddie who went higher (you cannot count falsetto when considering one's extension!!)

Freddy was great!!! I can only hope that we are graced with another voice like that in my life time.

Your absolutley right.... no one can compare to freddie, he could make a rock song sound like a symphony.

What a stupid discussion about the high notes of Roger and Freddie. You just can't compare Roger to Freddie, because Freddie is incomparable. There are lots of Roger's, but only one Freddie Mercury. Besides, Roger (or any other singer)even shouldn't sing the songs which were sung by Freddie simply because they sound ridiculous. No-one can come near Freddie!

roger cant reach as high as freddie can. i'll give you a link showing freddies highest notes. its nuts how high he went.

the reason why roger does the high parts is because roger cant hit the low notes, not because freddie couldnt hit the high notes, if you listen to the line "beelzebub has a devil put aside for me" in the operatic portion of bo rhap you can hear freddie singing VERY low while roger hits the high parts.

i understand freddie sings most of the midrange and low parts and roger does the high parts. have you ever heard the live version of impromptu in japan 1985? freddie hits a D6, which is way higher than Roger ever went. i can give you a link to a site that talks about it. Freddie has a 3.75 octave range.

actually roger can go higher listen to any of Queens songs and roger does the high part. Bho rhap is a good example roger does the really high parts in the opera section not freddie. Same deal with another one bites the dust roger sings the high 'another one bites the dust' parts not freddie. Freddies strength was in the mid range not high

Freddie can go much higher than Roger as a matter of fact.

what has that got to do with this song or performance?
