lol you HAD to be a programer just to run one of these things. and if you mispelled or mispunctuated in the loop you would get the dreaded SYNTAX ERROR

I said the CMOS 6502 and later the 65C02 which were inside the Apple II, Atari 400/800 and C64 and their immediate descendants. Amiga didn't use the Motorola 68000 in the 1000, 500 and 2000 until years after Apple had been using it in the Macintosh. Macs were on the 68020 by then.

There was the LT.Kernal HDD developed by fiscal here in florida. I did much programming with its DOS DB subsystem. I meet one of the inventors too. It was remarkable how much this HDD extended the C-64, it was very fast for the time with 10MB of storage!

So many memories. I got a job writing business software on the C-64 and we had the first hard drive for the C-64!, the Lt. Kernal,.. 10MB, with an excellent DOS and DB features. Meet one of the the inventors as well. A nice feature of the C-64 was to copy ROM to ram and switch off ROM and exec the copy,.. allowing modification of the interpreter ('OS').

I think the Artary ST, Commodore Amiga, and the Genesis all used Motorlla 68000 as thei main CPU.
