You can do that if you have defeated Zalera but the simple way is to just reset and reload and start your run from the save crystal again.

To respawn the chest just go to Garamscythe Waterway and go back right?

The Esper there, Zalera, is level 40. Go by that if you like though to me levels are irrelevant. Equips are much more important.
