There is a "fada" (the little accent stroke over the "a") in there. When you put a fada on an "a" in Irish it is pronounced "aw" (as in saw) so technically it is Slaw-nya NOT Slane. As with all languages there is variation in pronunciation. The town Slane in Meath & the river Slaney in Wexford both derive from the Irish (Gaelic) word/name Sláine...but as often the case in these counties the old Gaelic pronunciations of "aw" are now corrupted in the forced English & becomes "ay" (as in day)! Slán

There's been arguments for years in 2000ad about the correct pronunciation of Slaine. There's the town of slaine and the river slaney here in Ireland. I pronounce Slaine as "slain", you might be different, but the creator of the story has never been quoted on his pronunciation of his creation's name, as far as I know.

It's pronounced SLAW - NYA - not Slane.
Great fan film though.

Is there more of this, or was this the whole movie?

youtube esta plagado de fanfilms, algunos bastante amateurs y otros realmente patéticos. Casi senti miedo de ver este fan film de Slaine, ya que soy gran seguidor de los comics de Bisley y esperaba ver algo casi parodico con espadas de papel mache, actores pesimamente caracterizados, etc. Me alegro de haberme equivocado. Mis respetos.
