Thanks for the great how-to! I am going to purchase this camera for use as a "cat cam". This guy did it (mr-lee-catcam [dot] de) with some circuit modifications, strapped it to the cat and the came back with amazing photos "he took." Because of its light weight and good image quality, there is tremendous potential in the animal cam category.

A couple of tips that i've learned reading around:
It is possible to open the camera and tweak the focus, to give it a nominally correct correct infinity mode.
When using it as a card reader, BEWARE that a card formatted with any filesystem other than FAT-16 will be automatically reformatted!
