carahatestrig- its called the law. I also have a irish-american mother and african-american father. But I identify as black. The constitution states that if you have 1/16th drop of black blood, then you are "black". Personally I would rather identify as black (as Halle Berry does) by choice. I'm honored to be part of such a strong heritage. Congrats Halle on being the "sexist woman alive" and representing the beauty of black women.

Some of these comments are so stupid...she is just saying that she has open doors for black women who have dreams (dumbass people) And she has done that..remember "Jennifer Hudson" trust me its all because of this moment. She is still a woman of color..if she wasn't rich and famous..you still would consider her black. She will always get the black role..she won't ever play a white woman. She deserves it..congrats to her. She is a good person and hard working...bunch of haterz..
