The greatest concentration point of Dinarics proper in Europe is the mountain zone from the Tyrol to Albania. The name (Dinaric) derives from the Dinaric Alps (the western part of the Balkan Peninsula). Several theories were postulated regarding the genesis of the Dinaric 'race' and most of them agreed that this 'race' was autochthonous to its present habitat from the Neolithic. Carleton Coon, in The Origin of Races (1962), argued that the Dinarics were a specific type that arose from ancient mixes of the Mediterranean 'race' and Alpine 'race'. There are 'classic' Dinarics and Norics (mixed with nordish types). Geographical distribution of the 'classic' Dinaric type (estimate): Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia 70%,Romania 30%Czech Republic and Slovakia 25% Austria 20%Hungary 20% Italy 20%France 15% Switzerland 15%Bulgaria 15%Greece 15%Poland 10%Ukraine 10%Germany 5%Russia and Belarus 5%Spain 5% (most common among Basque). Geographical distribution of the Noric type (estimate): Austria 35% Switzerland 30% France 30% Czech Republic and Slovakia 15%Germany 15%ex Yugoslavia 10% (most common in the North)Romania 7% Poland 5%Russia 5%Bulgaria 5%Italy 5% (most common in the North)Hungary 2%England 2%Ireland 2%.But, based just on that, it cannot be determined the origins of people of a country. Because, even members of the same family are often of different phenotypes. Based on analysis of Y-Chromosome haplogroups it can be determine the origins of a person (or group of persons) who carry a specific haplogroup. All persons of a certain haplogroup (for example R1b) share the same origins. A Spaniard and an Irishman are (genetically) more similar themselves than the Spaniard and a Greek, despite the Spaniard and the Greek seem "mediterranean" and the Irishman seems "nordic". Most Spaniards and Irishman (over 80%) belong to haplogroup R1b. The results of genetic researches that were done in Croatia in the last few years do not support the 'Iranian origin theory'. watch part III...

I totally agree with you. Many misinformed people make ridiculous assumptions. I was talking to a guy who claims the Amazigh(Berbers)were a "race" & were older than even the Australian types that diverged from Africa! Many people also believe in the mythical "caucasoid race." Europeans are basically(as you said)a mix of Upper Paleolithic(Cro-magnon & related types)& Middle Eastern(Neolithic era) physical types. I have nothing against any ethnicity, but I don't like it when they use rhetoric.

That's exactly the point of my videos - to show that all this Iranian origin of Croats videos are complete nonsens! Some people try to connect the 'Dinaric' phenotype with ancient Iran, which is ridiculous. Genetics have shown that the ancestors of most West Balkan people were here since before the Ice Age.

Well first of all, even using the term Dinaric is ridiculous; this was a phenotype proposed by Carelton Coon. It has been disputed in the scientific community. Coon's assumptions did not take into account ancient genetics as well as other skeletal evidence. We must make sure we use modern, proven, scientific information.
