Here in Canada we have both types of toilets.
The one with the two button option is most often found in Office buildings and Universities.
As of this second, it is rare to find the double button toilet in homes. (*I wonder if that will change to save money on the home water bill...*)

Many many times, almost everyday, when I take a shit I leave multiple skid marks and I have to flush maybe 2 or 3 times.

suggestion for another experiment: fill a sink or bathtub with water, pull the plug, and watch the direction of the drain spiral. You will clearly see the difference!

Awesome! ... I have an idea though, how about trying to pour food coloring into the toilets, just as you flush them?
Then you MIGHT be able to see a "Current" Not that I think there is one...
Um... They kind of just gurgle and go in all directions.
