Van Buren Boys /J.D. Mcgillicuddy's Ice Hockey

The Van Buren Boys were formed from when the remains of "Aram's Team" of the 2006 IWMHL combined with a solid group of friends who have a passion for the game and similar backgrounds, as well as some experienced veterans that signed on prior to the season to add some needed depth to the squad. Team Captain Brendan Stenson, as well as Assistant Captain Dan Barone, Forward Brian Bussey, and Forward A.J. Dimatteo are alumni from the now defunct IWMHL "Aram's team." Stenson and Barone are also Alumni of the Cardinal O'hara Ice Hockey program, as are Assistant Captain Joe Campbell and defensemen Dennis Boone. Forwards Jordan Perry and Joe Montemayor are alumni of the Plymouth-Whitemarsh Hockey Program and "Monte" as Montemayor is known by his teammates also played for the Valley Forge Colonials Hockey Club before joining the Van Buren Boys. Jeff Andes is no stranger to the IWMHL playing on a number of different teams throughout his career and most recently with the VBB division rivals the "Cobras." Justin Carroll is an IWMHL vet as well previously playing for the now defunct "Bandits" along with his brother Rory Carroll. Justin Carroll is also an alumni of the Haverford Hawks ice hockey program. Mike Sammartino was a previous member of many different organizations most notably the Jr. Phantoms, before becoming a member of the Van Buren Boys early into the Spring 07 season. Tony Boulos is an Easton Highschool Hockey Program Alumni most recently playing in the UPENN winter league. For the FALL WINTER/07-08 Season The Van Buren Boys were sponsored by J.D. MCGILLICUDDY'S" after a deal in was made in principle between the franchise and Tommy Thornton of J.D. Mcgillicuddy's. J.D. Mcgillicuddy's is a Restaurant / Tavern with locations in Armore PA, Manayunk PA, Kirklyn PA, and Tinicum PA.
