good interpretation but it is,at last,only interpretation..beethoven has improvised his music - classical interpretation is absolutely overestimated. a point : "Do not follow the old masters´steps, but seek what they were seeking... " Basho (1644-1694) : japanese haiku - master :-) ! ..you wonna see/hear something realy innovative - how to improvise classical music ?! look for video : "bach sarabande jazz guitar" ! ..or visite renatorozic dot com ..you ll be surprised .. :-)

The feeling of suspense and drama, restrained romantics chained to classical uptightness, or something is alive and well here in this peformance. But that's what I love about Beethoven--I think he's more interesting in this way than the full fledged Romantics.

I hear two ways this mvt. gets played 1)restrained, exacting, listening for pins to drop, every motion, emotion well controlled, analyzed, questioned 2)unrestrained openess, where sunny is sunny and cloudy is cloudy. Then again, the third mvt., the sun finally comes out.

I wish that U Tube would understand that there is no soloist in this music...Lambert Orkis and Anne Sophie Mutter are collaboraters and accompanist is not the correct term for Lambert Orkis or Robert MacDonald ,etc. Please correct this insult to pianists . Samuel Sanders is no longer with us, but he would be shocked to see this listed as a solo work with a piano accompaniment.Beethoven called this a sonata for piano and violin.
