aka not hippie rags There is a difference?
morphinemaple (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
cool. so you disagree. Most of the major scientific organizations (aka not hippie rags) have said it is happening without a doubt and needs immediate action. So... we should listen to you why?

I am a scientist and I disagree with the conclusions of this video. Same here

I am a scientist and I disagree with the conclusions of this video. Anecdotal evidence from Inuits is not evidence of climate change. The Arctic was never cooler during the last 4-5 centuries preceding this one and yes it has gotten warmer in Northern Latitudes. It is a huge stretch to claim as this video does that there are tipping points in climate. Thoes statements are not based on rigorous scientific work and contrary to assumptions they make regarding paleo climatic conditions.

One of the best things that you, as an individual can do, is to believe that we really have a problem and that we have the ways and means to fix that problem. When enough people clamor for change, the politicians will listen, and change will happen. Some people become activists, some don't. But we all have the opportunity to vote. And we can all help spread the word. This needs to be the number one priority! climate change is where we need to put the majority of our resources.

Ignorant people post comments that contradict the conclusion of the biggest science org in the world AAAS because they saw something in the TV.

Climate change can't happen without loosing our existing economies. Climate change is inevitable, and requires the loss of about 30% of existing Earth's population. This causes various planetary "instabilities". You make the next sentence:...

CO2 gas actually been proven to be one of the weaker greenhouse gases, far less powerful than methane or water vapor.

AAAS is in the stage where they've stopped wondering whether there is GW, and now thinking about how to act on it. Hence it views it from the second angle - how to educate young people about it, and live sustainably. If you want the real science, the best bet is the peer-reviewed articles on their website.
