Creating a Half-Life 2 Character with Softimage|XSI from assets coming from Daz Studio, 3ds Max and Maya. Use the Collada file format to export and import the assets. Use the Softimage|XSI features to prepare the character: Polygon Reduction, Merge, GATOR and RenderMap.

Absolutely! Everything is there in the XSI 6 Mod Tool. The COLLADA support, polygon reduction, the Rendermap, you can also model, perform the skinning and weighting of your charater and you can animated it as well. The HL2 plugin is also part of the Mod Tool.

so i rig my human ragdol export it ok... compile it and then it comes out like a statue... with the collision/physics thing under it... =( aso bullets go thru it and then its even all static :( the bones extend way under the feet and why? it looked fine in xsi =((

Also, didn't know where to install it. Tried these file paths: valve/steam/steamaps/sourcesdk/bin, and steam/steamaps/sourcesdk/bin my valve folder seems pretty barren, i just see folder names, no files, is it suppose to be that way? and are there suppose to be a valve and a steam folder separate?

I'm having trouble getting studiocompiler to run. Says it's missing a vstdlib.Dll file. So I copied that from another folder. Then it said the procedure entry point Q_StrRight couldn't be located in vstdlib.dll.

weird....i have 2 objects that i can not merge with my texture with it...it just say pick a session.....argh
