They filmed him singing twice as fast and slowed it down to match with the music. That's what gives it the slo-mo feel.

What a cheap video! haha. sorry. don't get me wrong, I love coldplay and all their songs, especially this one! i just think they could've done something better. don't anybody respond to this and say i'm a hater or something, cause i'm not. thnx
