When a move hits you downward, it is considered to be either a meteor smash or a spike. If the attack is a meteor smash, you can press jump or up+B to cancel out your downward momentum (meteor cancel). You must, however, press jump or up+B after you are hit, not during the hit.

Reverse DAir chain? I haven't heard of it, but then again I don't play ICs. This is an old video; reverse DAir chain may not have been discovered yet.
