Johannes Heesters - Man müsste Klavier spielen können
This song, composed by Friedrich Schröder for the the movie "Immer nur Du", became the signature song of singer/actor Johannes Heesters...
"Immer nur Du", starring Johannes Heesters and Dora Komar is a film-operatta/musical/screwball comedy with elaborate musical numbers and some very funny moments... When famed movie stars Will Hollers and Loni Carell star in the new operetta "Immer nur Du", their enormous egos clash instantly. Interference of their respective managers, Fita Benkhoff and Paul Kemp makes things even more complicated... Eventually Will and Loni fall in love and get married only to have a big fight the day after they marry, when Loni finds out her husband wants her to give up her career and suspects him of having an affair... The premiere is postponed and the filming of their operetta (movie within a movie) is a tedious affair... In the end however, all is resolved.
Songs from the movie are "Liebling, was wird nun aus uns beiden?", "Die ganze Welt dreht sich um Dich" and "Man müsste Klavier spielen können".
There are many different versions of the song available, this is the soundtrack of Johannes Heesters and a male choir singing...
Slideshow of actors from the movie, including publicity. The Belgian colour poster (from personal collection) is a post-war poster... The movie was re-released around 1950 in Belgian cinemas as "Je t'aimerai toujours (I will always love you)", it's wartime release title was "A toi...pour toujours (Yours...forever)".
The two lobby cards of musical numbers are from another movie in which Heesters and Komar co-starred, "Karneval der Liebe" (1943).
See Georges Guétary - Tango de nos souvenirs (video response) for the French version.
Enjoy!

Schade das dieser Greis (* 5. Dezember 1903)immer noch auftritt. Es wäre schöner ihn so in Erinnerung zu behalten wie er damals war. |
