These are two Paradigm Atom Monitor (v.5) speakers that I just purchased. I have them hooked to a Denon DRA-397 Stereo Receiver with Audioquest speaker cables. My source is my computer using an Audiotrak Prodigy HD2 soundcard. I use Winamp and the Mad decoder along with kernel streamer plugin (to bypass windows K-mixer) and FLAC lossless compression codec. The result is an outrageously detailed sound for even the most meager of budgets. Song is "Me and Mrs. Jones" By Michael Buble. I apologize for the dark recording, This was shot with my point and shoot camera. Discussion is welcome!

nice speakers seem todo the business, but that Denon reciever looks like it could be replaced with a dedicated amp not one with built in radio. Something older maybe, nad, sony, pioneer or something. You can pick up amazing bargains on amps on ebay like top notch ones for pocket money. Trust me it will make a vast difference to the sound quality.

what kind of receiver is that, i know its a DENON, but which one, and what are your surrounds, or do u just have the front atoms??

My dad has four of the atoms for his suround sound in his room. They are killer. They are older model and I need to find replacment drivers for them. I also have a set of the titans and I would recommend the titans over the atoms if you can aford it. I bought mine nearly 15 years ago. I had an accident one day with the one and poped the tweeter. Used the other for a centre channel and the driver didn't make it so I only have one good one. But I pounded the crap out of them. Great speakers!

I love this song too. Now if I culd find a subwoofer to blend with my vintage bookshelf speakers.

Atoms are sweet, I have a pair in my bedroom connected to a Sansui 5000X I have driven those poor speakers hard and loud at times yet they continue to sound good and come back for more, I'd like a sub, but I really don't need one, they don't sound as small as they are.

I got a pair of those. They kick ass!

I have the titans and the atoms. Get the titans if you can. Atoms are amazing for the dough, but you will hear their size. the titans won't make you feel that sensation.

got that right. After hearing the titans and atoms separately, I knew I wanted the titans...and picked up the atoms also. I never use my paradigm sub in my bedroom. absolutely unneccessary. Never a problem... even when probably cross wiring the poles. A titan near a wall has a huge sound. I also now have the NHT Classic 3 speakers, running out of a Onix Melody 3. I broke them in with the second tune on Barry Whites staying power...Don't Play Games... and what a difference a week made!!

This song means a lot to me. Army days in 1971...hanging out in a quiet bar with this playing, and a girl actually sliding off her seat toward mine on my right. I have had a set of Pardigm titans and atoms in my smallish bedroom, along with their second level center and a great paradigm sub from about 6 years ago for my cinema system, running out of an Onkyo from the same year. I have never need the sub. Big, big sound in a smaller room. Today, I found 2 atom vs. 4 in a thrift for $55. !!!!

Good Choice Mate. Paradigm is definitely a real "Bang For The Buck" speaker. You could have spent more money and gotten a lot less from many other brands.
